Within the Innovative Medicine Innitiative (IMI), an education and training program on drug safety entitled SafeSciMET program was launched two years ago. SafeSciMET encompasses close collaboration between European academic institutions and EFPIA members in training and education on drug safety. The program comprises different modules covering all topics of modern safety sciences. This includes courses on Cellular Toxicology, Molecular Toxicology, Toxicogenomics and Systems Toxicology and Pharmacogenetics.

In this context, a course on Toxicogenomics and Systems Toxicology will take place at Leiden University, The Netherlands, from 26 to 30 March 2012.

The course provides an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with the field of Toxicogenomics and Systems Toxicology including biomarker discovery and implementation in drug safety evaluation in the pre-clinical setting. Lectures will be held by experts from leading European pharmaceutical companies.
